Jim McGinniss - Jim is a songwriter, poet, and teacher. He made his living for a time in the field of surveying and civil engineering. After Pine Island, Jim performed as a member of the N-zones and made be heard playing bass on the Live at Warehouse Hall LP. During the 1990's, Jim played bass and guitar with Wild Branch, a northern Vermont bluegrass ensemble. More recently he has playing fiddle in a duet with clawhammer banjo/guitar player Jim Daniels. They are regulars at the Radio Bean Cafe and play county fairs and field days across northern Vermont, including the Lamoille County Field Days, Franklin County Field Days, the Barton Fair and the Caledonia County Fair. This summer they performed in the Poultry Barn at the Caledonia County Fair. This appearance culminated the Summer Without Thunder Tour. Jim McGinniss and Jim Daniels will soon release a CD entitled Whistle Pig. Jim enjoys having dinner with Meara McGinniss and Misa Blackmer. Jim is currently a Remedial Language Specialist and English teacher at the Pine Ridge School in Williston, VT. He also teaches writing at Champlain College.
